Each Student’s Book unit consists of eight pages of language sections and two pages of lifeSkills, and includes a highly photographic opener, a language wrap-up, communicative wrap-up, and a unique access code for the mindOnline website.
The first part of the series, openMind, consists of four levels, starting with Essentials for true beginners (pre-A1). This level caters specifically to the students’ lack of vocabulary and the related difficulties of expressing ideas in English, while openMind as a whole focuses on developing the Life Skills of self-direction and learning, encouraging students to recycle and consolidate the vocabulary of the unit and promoting learner strategies to help students develop learner autonomy.
masterMind takes students from intermediate to high upper intermediate, taking into account the changing competencies, interests and skills of students. The masterSkills developed at these levels are social and cross-cultural skills, critical thinking, and information literacy. The Reflect feature encourages students to evaluate their learning processes and emphasizes the transferability of each skill.
