The Teacher's Notes contain detailed lesson plans with step-by-step instructions for carrying out all activities, questions to help discussion and motivate interest, and full audio transcripts. An initial overview of the lesson objectives sets out the concepts and language focus, as well as materials needed. Many of the investigation lessons include a detailed framework to structure the lesson, comprising sample answers, questions and results.

At the end of each lesson, two extra activities are included, with any further activities marked as optional. These provide a wide range of different tasks and learning styles to motivate and stretch children. Class and homework worksheets, cross-curricular activities and games (including ideas for art, drama, literacy, history, math, ICT and PE) can be used to consolidate concepts and language, as well as contributing to the whole-child learning experience. Extra language practice ideas are also included for less confident classes.

The introduction to the Teacher's Notes includes sections on classroom management, parental involvement, CLIL methodology, fieldwork, assessment and homework.
